The Blue man

*

Sitting at a table in the middle of an ocean:

around his repast great sea beasts rise.

Off to starboard a canine inhabited tree.

Of somewhat diminutive size.

"Am I too simple to find the solution?

Or is it the solution that's got into my eyes?"

Cried the man who was commonly known to be both blue and wise.

"Were my eyes deluded by such things as these?

By sea beasts and fishes and dogs in the trees?"

"I am wind across the sea!"

bellowed the man who was known as "He"

"I am the breath in a song," said he

to the sea beasts in the ocean and the dog in the tree.

But they said nothing, they said nothing to he.

Not the sea beasts in the ocean or the dog in the tree.

So he set forth on a quest to find what was true.

So went that man who was blue.

He swam among sea beasts

and some big fishes too.

And found the mainland

somewhere off the shore of Tim Buck Two.

It was there he met an angel dressed in a gown of white

who led him fourth under a starry June night.

To her place beneath the moon.

And she sang to him her song on that fateful night in June.

And he realized that there was more to an ocean

than just expanse and blue and some big fishes too.

And he realized that there was more to the airy heights

that the sea beasts inhabit on frosty blue nights.

And he realized that there was more than just he;

a lone bellowing man, adrift on the sea.

Such things did he learn from that angel in white

that he decided to stay the rest of the night.

And he staid the following day

and well past the following month of May

as a mater of fact; he staid the rest of his life.

And he took that angel for his wife.

Now happily they swim off the shores of Tim Buck Two

that angel in white, and the man who

was blue.
