Outside is a landscape of water and clay.

A divine stemming of trees,

Leaves that hide the light.

Roots cobbling the clay.

Caves for goblins and crawling things.

Compost of the devoured and the devouring.

*

At night there are nocturnal eyes

streaming into the darkness.

Hunters, hunting to eat,

to devour leaf or flesh.

a fly buzzes at twilight.

A cloud forms.

A mountain juts skyward

a great coupling of lovers

as sky and earth intertwine.

*

Everything beats to earth's cadences.

Primal; primordial.
